Our team managed to clear off all the jobs in time, and we’re so glad that we can finish everything in time. What’s left are those who’re not taxable. Those aren’t to be worried about because no penalty usually no penalty is imposed if this is the case. It’s a relief that the e-filing server didn’t crash in the last day of Form BE submission. Only the IRB’s Pin Code server crashed and everyone’s queuing up in the IRB’s office to do their submission, without the use of Pin Code. That’s what happened in Miri, not too sure about the other cities though.

This marks the end of War #1. We managed to finish everything, and we only have 2 clients who happens to be not in Miri. Their submission is going to be late, and I’m sure we will have hard time dealing with them because obviously there would be a dogfight on who’s going to pay the penalty.

Tomorrow is the start of War #2. I have more jobs waiting for me, and the new deadline is 30th June. This time, jobs are tougher because we’re going to be dealing with people with business income. After working quite a number of customers with business income, and hearing all the rants from my seniors, I guess I can classified the different types of tax payer with business income:

Those who didn’t keep proper record. It’s either they’re too lazy, or they just don’t know how.

Those who do illegal business. And they deal everything in cash. And obviously, these kind of income isn’t recorded properly.

Those people who kept all the invoices, bills, etc, put them in one large plastic bags, throw to us and let us do the calculation.

Those who does proper records and filings. They summed up all their expenses and sales.

Those who does proper records and filings. And they even use computerized accounting system and these further ease up our job.

Those who does proper records and filings. They also used computerized accounting system. BUT, the bookkeeper happens to be a monkey in accounting. These kind of accounts are those that puts a crack on our head.

Looks like I have to prepare myself for a round 2.

“My boss lah, say this year want to increase fee”

“My boss lah, say this year must collect more than last year.”

“My boss lah, say will not increase my salary if I don’t collect more. If there’s no increment, it’s hard for me also due to the inflation.”

“My boss lah, everyday also talk about inflation, and we have to increase our service fee to cope with it.”

“My boss lah, say this year want to buy a new Mercedes. So have to increase fee…”

“My boss lah, everyday bring me to his office and talk about the rising cost of running a business.”

“My boss lah, say will not give us bonus if we don’t get the customer to pay more…”

“My boss lah, say it’s costly to absorb all the 5% Government Service Tax all this while.

“My boss lah, say the price of papers kept increasing lately.”

And yet, only like 60% of the customers are willing to pay more. I guess when it comes to chinese people (our customer base is 95% chinese), all they want is to squeeze every penny out of you.

A worm!!! Luckily I didn’t take the lady’s finger. I took some other vege, and I don’t encounter any lucky worm on my rice. So anyways, when we got back to the office told our other colleagues the story, guess what’s their reaction?

“It shows that the lady’s finger is free of poison.”

Sweat -_-”

Since I am one of the few guys in the accounting firm that I work at, I am usually the one who have to do all the “carry-heavy-stuff” work for my firm.

This morning, one of our customer came and she has like 2 boxes of files. As usual, I am one of guys who got asked to help her carry lah. And so, I followed her to her car. She took out her car keys and press the unlock button. The Kancil doesn’t respond. She press again, and the Kancil doesn’t even unlocks itself! She shakes the car remote, hit it with her hand, and press. Fails. It doesn’t work. So what to do, she went back up to our office to get her colleague who’s talking my supervisor. After a while they went back down. Both of them keep on trying and trying, and it just won’t work.

Then, her colleague suggested that she calls her other colleagues, who knows car stuff better. While she was looking for her handphone in her handbag, she smiled to herself. “Ah, wrong keys”, she laughed. She happens to have two Kancil keys in her bag.
